๐ŸŽฏ Aim

To study the relationship between voltage, current and resistance in a simple electric circuit.

๐Ÿ“˜ Theory

Electric current flows when there is a complete path from one terminal of the battery to the other.

For an ideal resistor, the relationship between voltage, current and resistance is described by Ohm’s Law.

V = I ร— R

Therefore:

I = V รท R

๐Ÿ”ฌ Circuit Components

๐Ÿ”‹ Battery: Provides electrical potential difference.

๐Ÿ’ก Bulb: Shows the effect of electrical power visually.

ใ€ฝ๏ธ Resistor: Limits the current flowing through the circuit.

โšก Switch: Opens or closes the electrical path.

โ’ถ Ammeter: Measures current in amperes.

No observations recorded.

๐Ÿงช Try These Experiments

Experiment 1:
Keep resistance constant and gradually increase voltage. Observe what happens to current.

Experiment 2:
Keep voltage constant and increase resistance. Observe what happens to current.

Experiment 3:
Compare the brightness of the bulb at low and high electrical power.

๐Ÿ“ Procedure

  1. Set the battery voltage.
  2. Select the resistance.
  3. Close the switch.
  4. Observe the animated current path.
  5. Read the ammeter.
  6. Observe bulb brightness.
  7. Record the reading.
  8. Change voltage or resistance.
  9. Repeat the experiment.

๐Ÿง  Remember

Increasing voltage while keeping resistance constant increases current.

Increasing resistance while keeping voltage constant decreases current.

A circuit must be closed for continuous current to flow.

โœ… Experiment Result

The simulation demonstrates the relationship between voltage, current and resistance. For an ideal resistor: Current increases with voltage and decreases as resistance increases. This agrees with Ohm’s Law: V = IR.
