CGPA Calculator
Calculate your Cumulative Grade Point Average across multiple semesters using semester GPA/SGPA and credit values.
Enter Semester Details
Enter the GPA or SGPA obtained in each semester. For a credit-weighted CGPA, also enter the total credits completed during each semester.
CGPA Analysis
Review your cumulative academic performance across the semesters included in the calculation.
Semester-Wise Breakdown
For credit-weighted calculation, weighted points are calculated by multiplying each semester GPA/SGPA by its credits.
| Semester | GPA / SGPA | Credits | Weighted Points |

What is CGPA?
CGPA stands for Cumulative Grade Point Average. It is used to represent a student’s overall academic performance across multiple semesters, terms or academic periods.
Credit-Weighted CGPA Formula
Simple Average CGPA Formula
CGPA Calculation Example
Semester 1: SGPA 8.0 with 20 credits
Semester 2: SGPA 8.5 with 22 credits
Semester 3: SGPA 9.0 with 20 credits
Weighted Points:
8.0 × 20 = 160
8.5 × 22 = 187
9.0 × 20 = 180
Total Weighted Points = 527
Total Credits = 62
CGPA = 527 ÷ 62
= 8.50
Why Use Credit-Weighted CGPA?
When semesters contain different numbers of credits, a credit-weighted calculation gives greater importance to semesters carrying more academic credits. This is generally more accurate than simply averaging semester GPAs when the credit loads differ.
CGPA vs GPA
GPA often refers to performance within a particular semester or set of courses. CGPA represents cumulative performance across multiple semesters. However, universities may use these terms differently.
CGPA vs SGPA
SGPA usually means Semester Grade Point Average and represents performance in one semester. CGPA combines academic performance across several semesters.
Can CGPA Be Converted to Percentage?
There is no single universal CGPA-to-percentage conversion formula. Different boards, universities and institutions use different conversion rules. For an official percentage, use the formula specified by your institution.
Important: This calculator supports general 10-point and 4-point CGPA calculations. Universities may use different credit systems, grade-point scales, rounding rules, excluded courses, failed course policies and CGPA formulas. Always follow your institution’s official academic regulations for an official result.
